Turn-based hex tactics in a dark folk-tale kingdom. One price, no ads.
The Kingdom of Velmar is living through its third winter of the Troubles. The king has not been seen since autumn, a chancellor rules in his name, barons strike their own coin, and gangs hold the highroads. You carry a writ under the royal seal — and a handful of soldiers.
YEARS OF WOE is a turn-based tactics RPG told as a dark folk tale.
TACTICS ON HEXES
Every hex counts. Lock shields, flank, brace bear-spears against cavalry, shove enemies into each other and into burning brush. Wolves hunt in packs, cultists burn what they touch, and bosses fight by their own rules.
A WARBAND WITH NAMES
Hire militia, archers, men-at-arms, Varangian axemen, Sisters of Mercy and more. Every soldier has a name and earns a temperament. At level 3 they choose one of two paths; at level 5 they become masters — fifty kinds of soldier in all. The fallen stay fallen, unless you pay to bring them back.
A GREAT MAP OF SIX LANDS
Ride from the forests of Underwood to the free city of Vedrensk, the Frostwood, the Shoreland and the ash-grey woods beyond the Ridge. Roaming bands track you down; roadside events test you; ruins hide treasure.
CHOICES THAT STICK
Spare the baron or hang him. Side with the city or the crooked baron. Trust the jarl, the Chud, or the sea. The chronicle remembers.
