Depending on the available data, Origin can show: • Brand and product information • Declared manufacturing locations • Ingredient origins • Parent company and company country • Countries where the product is sold • GS1 barcode information • Data sources and confidence levels Not every product has complete information, so Origin clearly shows what is known and what is missing. 📊 PRODUCT TRACEABILITY SCORE Every scanned product receives a Traceability Score based on the amount of available information and how consistently different sources agree. A higher score means more traceability information is available. The score is not a certification of product origin. It helps you understand how well documented a product appears to be. 🔗 MULTIPLE DATA SOURCES Origin does not depend on a single food database. It combines information from sources such as: • Open Food Facts — products, ingredients and declared manufacturing information • Wikidata — brands, companies, ownership and associated countries Each source is displayed separately so you can check where the information comes from. ⚠️ WHEN SOURCES DISAGREE Product databases are not always consistent. If different sources provide conflicting information, Origin highlights the contradiction instead of silently choosing one answer. You see the available evidence and decide what it means. 🏷️ EAN, UPC & GTIN BARCODE INFORMATION A barcode prefix does not necessarily reveal where a product was manufactured. EAN and GTIN prefixes identify the GS1 organization responsible for issuing the barcode range.
