Malakh is designed for nearby messaging between compatible Android devices using Bluetooth Low Energy. You do not need mobile data, Wi-Fi, a Malakh account, or a central messaging server to communicate with another nearby Malakh user. Malakh uses Bluetooth Low Energy to discover and communicate with nearby devices. Bluetooth range varies with distance, walls, interference and device settings. If discovery is slow or a connection is interrupted, move the devices closer together and make sure Bluetooth remains enabled. VERIFY BEFORE YOU CHAT When connecting for the first time, Malakh displays verification symbols on both devices. Compare the symbols before approving the connection. This helps confirm that you are communicating with the intended nearby person. Malakh completes secure setup before messaging becomes available. Once verification and setup are complete, messages exchanged through the established session are protected using authenticated encryption over Bluetooth Low Energy. OFFLINE MESSAGING Malakh is designed for offline messaging rather than internet-based chat. It can be useful while travelling, outdoors, at events, in places with poor connectivity, or whenever two people nearby want a direct communication option. If Bluetooth communication is temporarily interrupted, Malakh can automatically attempt to reconnect when communication becomes available again. A message created during an interruption can wait for the connection to recover. PRIVACY AND SAFETY Malakh does not operate a central messaging server for nearby conversations and does not upload your conversations to cloud storage as part of normal chat operation. Conversation history, trusted-contact information, blocked-user status, and security information required by Malakh are stored locally on your device. You remain in control of who you communicate with. Terms & Community Standards must be accepted before sending messages, and you can block another user when needed. Malakh provides a reporting flow through your device's email application. A report is shared only after you review it and choose to send it. Message text is excluded by default and included only if you explicitly select that option. GOOD TO KNOW Malakh is a nearby Bluetooth chat app, not a global social network. Both users need compatible Android devices running Malakh and must remain within usable Bluetooth range. Malakh is intended for personal nearby communication. It is not an emergency service and should not be relied upon for urgent or safety-critical communication.
