This game drops you into a torchlit dungeon stairwell that never levels out. Your adventurer descends without ever stopping, step after step, and the staircase keeps twisting: one flight bends left, the next cuts right, and the only thing standing between the descent and the dark is your thumb. Tap the left half of the screen when the next step turns left, the right half when it turns right. That is the whole of it, and it is harder than it sounds. There is no pause to think and no second chance to reconsider. One tap on the wrong side ends the delve. One step missed altogether ends it just the same. The staircase sets the rhythm and you either match it or you don't, which makes every run a test of reading the stone a fraction of a second before you reach it. Good descents feel less like reacting and more like listening to the turn of the stairs and answering in time. Cracked steps change the measure. When the stone beneath you has split, a single tap won't hold it — the step demands an instant second tap, right on top of the first, before the crack gives way. They arrive without warning in the middle of a clean rhythm, and learning to double-tap without losing the beat of the turns is the skill that separates a short delve from a deep one. From level 9 the dungeon starts lying to you. Coin piles glitter on false ledges, catching the torchlight off to one side, and the eye goes to them before the mind can stop it. They sit on the wrong half of the screen, and the pull they exert on your attention is the real trap. The stairs themselves never cheat; the treasure does. Realising that, and keeping your gaze on the turn rather than the gleam, is what carries a run through the later depths. Fourteen levels take the descent from gentle spirals to stairwells that turn as fast as you can read them, with cracked stone and false gold layered in as you go. Each level asks for the same two things — the correct side, at the correct moment — and simply asks for them more often, and sooner. The controls stay as plain as they were on the first step: left half, right half, nothing to learn and everything to master. Short runs, immediate restarts, and a staircase that remembers nothing and forgives nothing. Pick it up for one more delve and see how far down the torchlight goes.
