Grasp Words records your voice and turns it into text, right on your phone. No account, no cloud, no subscription. Pay once and it is yours. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Transcription runs entirely on your device. Your audio and your text are never uploaded. • The internet is used only to download the speech model you choose. • No ads. No tracking. RECORD • Clear M4A (AAC) recordings in stereo or mono, in three quality levels • Keeps recording when the screen is off or you switch to another app • Pause and resume, or type any number of minutes to start recording later • Schedule recordings by date, weekday or time of day, with repeats and a recording length • Choose where recordings are saved (Recordings, Music or Podcasts) and name the folder • Live level meter, elapsed time and remaining storage at a glance • A simple list: tap to play, long-press to transcribe, share, rename or delete TRANSCRIBE • Live transcription while you record • Transcribe any audio or video file on your phone • Save the text as a TXT file, with or without timestamps such as [00:01:23] • English, French, German and Japanese • Choose speed or accuracy: a fast model for live text, or a high-accuracy model with punctuation HOW IT WORKS The first time you transcribe, Grasp Words downloads a speech model (about 150 to 670 MB depending on language and quality) over Wi-Fi or mobile data. After that, everything works offline. You can delete the models from Settings at any time. GOOD TO KNOW • Some phone makers add their own power-saving features that can stop apps in the background. These can cut off long recordings and keep timers and scheduled recordings from starting. Grasp Words guides you to Android’s battery setting; if your phone has its own power-saving or app-cleanup setting, exclude Grasp Words there as well. • Accuracy depends on audio quality, accents and background noise. For live transcription of French and German, the high-accuracy model may lag behind on slower phones; recording is never interrupted. • Your recordings are saved in Recordings/GraspWords and your text files in Documents/GraspWords by default (you can change the folder), so you can open them with any app. • To start scheduled recordings on time while the phone is locked, allow “Alarms & reminders” and full-screen notifications.
