Petal Bench

Petal Bench is an orchid genus guide for hobby growers who want to understand what different orchids need before buying, moving or caring for them. Explore 30 genera in one collection, from moth orchids and slipper orchids to comet orchids and hardy lady's slippers. Each genus has its own detailed sheet covering growth habit, greenhouse type, night minimum, day maximum, blooms per spike, species count, preferred light and natural habitat. A drawn comfort band places the genus temperatures on a single scale, making it easy to compare cool-house, intermediate-house and warm-house orchids. Search the shelves by genus or common name to quickly find a plant. Narrow the collection by cool, intermediate or warm house, or explore genera by their growing habit, including tree-dwelling, rock-dwelling and ground-rooted plants. Sort the collection by species count, blooms per spike or coolest night temperature. This makes it easier to browse the genera by the characteristics that matter most to your growing plans. Build your own shortlist of genera you want on your bench. Mark the orchids you have seen in flower, then grade each flowering using judging bands ranging from Below 75 to FCC 90+. Daily Spike gives you a simple way to discover something new each day. It selects one genus for the day, while also letting you draw another whenever you want. Every genus sheet you open is logged with its date, giving you a record of the orchids you have explored. Grower's Tag turns your bench into a personal profile. Add your display name and emblem, then keep track of your bench points, shortlist, flowering sightings and grades in one place. Your shortlist, grades and exploration log are saved in the app, so your personal bench can grow as you explore more genera. When you want a fresh start, one button clears your saved data. Petal Bench gives you a focused way to browse orchid genera, compare their growing preferences, record the plants you have encountered and keep your own flowering grades and bench statistics together.
