Kodama: Bonsai Care App & AI

Kodama is a bonsai care app for growers who want to know what their tree needs and when. Point your camera at a bonsai and Kodama identifies the species, checks its health and draws a wiring plan over your own photo. IDENTIFY YOUR BONSAI Take a photo and get the species with a confidence score and close alternatives. Kodama recognizes juniper, ficus, Japanese maple, black pine, Chinese elm, azalea and many more, from a first ficus to an old juniper. CHECK ITS HEALTH Spot trouble early. The AI looks at leaf discoloration, pest damage, root problems and other common issues, rates how serious each one is and tells you what to do about it. STYLING AND WIRING PLANS Get styling ideas suited to your tree's species and shape: informal upright, cascade, broom and more. The wiring plan is drawn on your photo, so you can see where each wire starts and which way it turns. SCAN BEFORE YOU BUY At the nursery, scan a tree before you pay for it. Kodama points out red flags, estimates a fair price and rates how hard the tree will be to keep. YOUR FOREST Keep every tree in one place with its photo, species and care history. Mark watering, feeding, pruning, repotting and wiring as done and Kodama works out the next date. CARE CALENDAR AND REMINDERS Each tree gets a care schedule built from its species, your hardiness zone and the season. Reminders arrive when a task is due, and the Care Due widget shows what needs attention today on your home screen. TREE JOURNAL Record your bonsai's progress with notes and photos, entry by entry, and look back at how far it has come. SPECIES LIBRARY AND TOOLS Browse 16 species profiles with difficulty ratings, ideal conditions and seasonal tips, plus calculators for wire gauge, soil mixes, pot sizes and jin and shari work. FREE AND PREMIUM Your first three AI scans are free, and the forest, calendar, reminders, journal and library are free to use. Kodama Premium unlocks unlimited scans of every kind, weekly or yearly, or once with a lifetime purchase.
