Bagh-Chal ("tiger moves") is the traditional strategy board game of Nepal, played for centuries in the villages of the Himalaya. Four tigers hunt, twenty goats defend. The tigers are strong but few, the goats are weak but many – and the two sides need completely different strategies. HOW TO PLAY • The 4 tigers start on the corners; the 20 goats enter the board one by one. Goats move first. • Goats cannot move until all 20 are placed. After that they step to a neighbouring empty point. • A tiger moves one step along a line, or jumps over an adjacent goat to the empty point behind it to capture it. • The tigers win by capturing 5 goats.
