192.168.1.8 — The Address the Printer Never Leaves 192.168.1.8 is usually a device with a reserved address. Network printers and scanners end up there more often than anything else. ✦ WHY THIS ADDRESS A printer that changes address stops printing, so its number gets pinned down early. Most printer setup wizards suggest a low free value, and .8 is one of the first still available on a typical home network. ✦ INSIDE THE APP • Security: the factory password is tested; WPA2/WPA3, WPS, guest network and firmware are yours to tick • 20 languages, light and dark theme, no account needed • Factory logins for 298 router brands, with the ones you tried marked ✦ WHAT PEOPLE DO HERE • Open the printer or scanner status page • Check your own IP and gateway • Measure the response time on the local network ✦ PRACTICAL NOTES Printer web pages often show ink levels, the print queue and the printer's own WiFi settings. That WiFi client is separate from your router and has its own saved key. ✦ WHAT IT IS NOT This app breaks no password and opens nothing from outside your home. It types the address for you and shows what manufacturers publish themselves. The login stays yours. Built to save you the address bar and the guesswork. A touch-up after the rebuilt speed test of the previous version. If the admin interface will not open, the app says so itself, plainly, and offers to run the attempt again or turn back; that conclusion also comes far sooner, in about a dozen seconds instead of a minute of waiting.
