Cut list planner for boards, pipes and rails, with kerf, trim and bars to scale
Cutlist plans how to cut a list of pieces from straight stock: lumber, trim boards, metal pipe, curtain or closet rails, conduit, molding. You tell it what lengths you can get and what pieces you need, and it lays the pieces out on as few bars as it can, then draws every bar to scale so you can mark and cut with confidence.
How it works
Enter one or more stock lengths, each with an optional price and an optional "have" count for bars already on hand. Add your pieces as length and quantity, with a label if you like. Set the saw kerf (the width the blade removes, 3 mm by default) and an end trim for rough factory ends. Tap Optimize.
Pieces are placed longest first, each on the first bar with room. The last bars are then tried on every stock length, so a nearly empty bar can drop to a shorter or cheaper length. When every stock length has a price, the plan aims for the lowest cost; otherwise it aims for the least material.
What you get
- Number of bars per stock length and the total cost
- Waste as a share of the stock used, counting kerf, trim and offcuts
- Each bar drawn to scale: colored pieces, saw cuts, trimmed ends and the hatched offcut you keep
- Identical bars grouped, so you see "make 3" instead of three copies
- Pieces longer than every stock length listed clearly, never dropped
- A warning when your "have" counts run out
- The full plan as plain text through the share sheet
Features
- Up to 60 piece lines and 8 stock lengths per project
- Millimeters, centimeters, meters, inches, or feet and inches
- Imperial lengths shown as fractions to the nearest 1/16 inch; type 37 9/16 or 3' 1 9/16" directly
- Type a unit in any field, such as 1200mm or 8', whatever the current setting
- Up to 30 saved projects, plus four worked examples to start from
- Default kerf and trim for new projects
- A plain-English guide inside the app
Your lists never leave the phone. Cutlist has no account, no ads and no internet access; projects are kept in the app's own storage until you reset or uninstall it.
