Outscore ghost authors on a crossword board and build a library of word combos.
Lexigeist is a word game roguelike: spell crossword words on a haunted library board and outscore the ghosts of famous authors, one round at a time.
A cursed dictionary has woken every author on the shelves. You enter the boarded-up library on a dare, and each wing has its own ghosts to banish: Edgar Allan Poe in the Gothic Wing, Shakespeare in the Theatre Stacks, Murasaki Shikibu among the Great Novels, Ada Lovelace in Natural Philosophy, and more than 40 others. At the end waits the possessed head librarian.
HOW A ROUND PLAYS
You and the ghost take turns on the same 11x11 board. Play words from your seven-tile rack to reach the round's target score in a few turns. Every letter, bonus square and word length adds to the score, and a multiplier lands on top. The ghost plays its own words between yours, and it goes for the triple squares you were saving. In boss rounds you also have to beat the ghost's score and meet a challenge, like a six-letter word on a triple word square.
BUILD YOUR LIBRARY
Between rounds, spend Lexicoins at the reference desk:
• Books with lasting effects, from steady bonuses to engines that grow every round
• Newspapers that level up a word length, so your five-letter words hit harder
• Magazines that upgrade your tiles: glass, gilt, wax seals and more
• Proof marks that change the board itself, and punctuation tiles that end or join words
Over 130 books, most of them real classics. Shelve a matching set and the books work together.
A NEW RUN EVERY TIME
Nine levels, 27 rounds. The eight wings come in a new order every run, with new boards and new ghosts. Lose and you start again, a little wiser about which build you want.
KEEP COMING BACK
• 13 satchels that change your starting bag, unlocked by playing
• 5 curses that make each satchel harder once you win with it
• 5 trials with their own twisted rules
• A card catalogue of every book and ghost you discover, with a page on each author’s real life
• 20 achievements with Google Play Games
FAIR AND FRIENDLY
Plays offline. The ghost uses the same dictionary you do. Short rounds fit a coffee break; a full run is a long evening by candlelight.
Free to try: the first three levels are free, with no ads. One purchase opens the rest of the library (levels 4 to 9) for good.
새로운 기능
The library opens its doors. Outscore the ghost authors one round at a time, build a shelf of books into a scoring engine, and work your way down nine wings to the Restricted Section. The first three levels are free.
