Mustri

Mustri is a design studio for colorwork knitting charts, inspired by the bold geometric patterns of Estonian and wider Nordic folk knitting. Work on a crisp grid where every cell is a stitch, choose your yarn colours, and paint motifs row by row — stars, roses, braids, zigzags and eight-pointed blooms — watching the pattern build up exactly as it would on a mitten cuff or a pair of wristwarmers. It's made for both curious beginners sketching a first band and experienced knitters charting a whole project. The studio is built around the way colorwork actually works. A symmetry helper mirrors your motif across an axis so borders stay balanced, a repeat preview tiles your chart sideways so you can see how the band will wrap around, and a stitch-count readout keeps track of the width as you go. Swap the palette at any time to try the same pattern in different yarns, and the whole chart re-colours instantly. Everything you make is saved to a personal gallery of charts, each stored with its palette and grid so you can reopen, duplicate and refine it later. A library of traditional motif blocks gives you starting points to drop in and adapt, and a plain-language guide explains how to read a colorwork chart and turn it into stitches. It all runs on a clean grid drawn entirely in-app, so there's nothing to download and nothing to load. With its own animated title, a warm folk-craft palette and buttons styled just for it, Mustri works completely offline with no account and no ads, in English and Estonian.
