Howling Tuner

Howling Tuner is a precise, easy tuner for violin, cello, guitar and ukulele, with a live pitch-over-time plot and a built-in metronome. TUNE FAST • Pick your instrument and it detects which string you're playing automatically. • Tap a string to tune just that one: great for low cello and guitar strings. • A clear needle shows how many cents sharp or flat you are, and turns green when you're in tune. • A check mark appears on each string once it has held in tune. • Long-press any string to hear its reference note. ALTERNATE TUNINGS • Guitar: Standard, Drop D, half step down, full step down, Drop C, DADGAD, Open G, Open D. • Ukulele: Standard (high G), low G, D tuning, baritone. • Adjustable reference pitch from A4 = 415 to 466 Hz. SEE YOUR PITCH • A scrolling piano-roll plot shows your pitch over time, with your strings marked. • Pinch to zoom, go full screen, or drag back through the last 10 minutes. • Great for checking intonation while practicing scales. STEADY READINGS • Adjustable smoothing (off, low, medium, high). • Ignores octave jumps, the sharp pluck attack and noisy fading notes. Every option can be switched on or off. METRONOME • Start and stop it right from the plot, and drag to change the tempo. • 30 to 250 BPM, tap tempo, and an accented first beat. • Beat ticks on the plot show each click against your pitch. • Turn the click sound, flash and ticks on or off. Howling Tuner works on your phone's built-in microphone. Audio is analyzed on your device and is never recorded. The app is free with a small banner ad, which you can remove with a one-time purchase.

• New In-tune hold time setting: choose how long a string has to stay in tune before it gets its check mark, from 0.5 to 3 seconds • The check mark now takes 1 second by default up from .8 seconds
