Moonflower: Dates, Not Chats

Somewhere along the way, dating apps stopped being a way to meet people and became a way to spend time looking for them. Moonflower brings dating back to the date. No swiping. No chatting. No profile to polish. Tell us when you're free, and we'll arrange a blind date with someone who's free too. We take care of the rest, so you can focus on the person, not the app. HOW IT WORKS Tell us when you’re free — whether it’s every Monday evening, this Saturday afternoon, or even tonight. Choose how much notice you want, and connect your calendar so you’re only offered dates that fit your schedule. Moonflower offers you a date, rather than a person to evaluate. You’ll get a time and a convenient meeting place, then simply say yes or no. Two hours before your date, you’ll see each other’s names, ages, and photos — just enough to find each other when you arrive. Feeling spontaneous? Set your notice period to zero, and you could be on a date the same evening you join. WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT THEM There’s no long bio to scroll through. Instead, you’ll see a small set of useful, verified facts: • Verified — Their government-issued ID has been matched to a selfie to confirm their identity. This is mandatory; it’s how everyone gets in. • Reliable — They haven’t cancelled or rescheduled a date. • Positive feedback — People they’ve met have said the date went well. • Active badge — One of five activity levels, based on data they choose to share through Health Connect. • STI test — They’ve provided documentation of an STI test. We record that it was provided, never the results. WHERE YOU MEET We choose a public meeting place that’s easy for both of you to get to, find, and leave. Once your date is confirmed, the location is set, so it’s one less thing for you to think about. Moonflower gives you directions and lets your date know if you’re running late — no chatting required. You can also choose to share your location to make finding each other easier. Then put your phone away and enjoy the date. AFTER THE DATE Tell us how it went, whether you felt safe and if you’d like to meet again. If the feeling is mutual, swap contact details or let Moonflower arrange your next date. If not, you won’t be matched again. HEALTH CONNECT (OPTIONAL) If you allow it, Moonflower reads three things from Health Connect: your height, your weight, and your active calories burned over the last seven days. We use them to fill in your height and weight in Personal details, so you don’t have to type them, and to award your Active badge: one of five activity levels shown on your profile. The level is worked out from your activity relative to your body size, so people of different builds are compared fairly. Other members see only the level, never your measurements or calorie figures. Moonflower never writes to Health Connect, and your health data is never used for advertising, sold, or shared. Without Health Connect your Active badge stays at Level 0; everything else works the same. You can stop sharing at any time in Health Connect’s settings. WHAT YOU’LL NEED • A mobile phone number — we’ll send you a verification code by SMS. No password needed. • You must be 18 or over. • Tokens to book a date, available to purchase in the app. Show up and most of your tokens are returned. If you don’t, they’re not. Moonflower is made by Alsanthea Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (17419177).
