Zeitnachweis records working hours the way German law expects them to be recorded: start, end, breaks, every correction with a reason, and a monthly timesheet that holds up in front of the tax advisor, the customs office and the labour court. Built for small businesses with 3 to 30 employees, trades and shift work. Free for employees. For employees • Clock in, start a break, clock out. A running timer shows the current entry. • Forgot to clock in? Add the entry afterwards. It is marked as added manually and needs a reason. • Overview per day and week: hours, breaks, averages and a weekly chart. • Compliance notes based on the German Working Hours Act (ArbZG): more than 10 hours a day, breaks too short, rest periods too short. • Monthly timesheet as a PDF with signature lines, shared directly from the phone. • Works completely offline. No account, no sign-up: in solo mode everything stays on your device. • No GPS, no screenshots, no monitoring. The app records time, nothing else. Corrections you can stand behind Every change is a new version with a reason. The old values are not overwritten; the entry keeps its full history, visible to you at any time. That is what makes the record tamper-evident. For employers The web backend at zeitnachweis.app turns the app into a legally compliant working-time record for the whole team: • Invite employees with a registration code; the app then syncs every entry automatically. • See all hours live, correct entries with a mandatory reason, keep the full audit trail. • Findings under the Working Hours Act and the Minimum Wage Act (ArbZG, MiLoG) per employee and month. • Monthly timesheet PDFs with signature lines, CSV and DATEV export for the payroll office. • Employees see everything the employer sees about them. Nothing is hidden. • Records are kept for at least two years, as required by MiLoG §17 and ArbZG §16. The employer backend is free for 90 days, then 1 € per active employee per month, excl. VAT. Employees never pay. Why a record at all? The Federal Labour Court ruled in 2022 (1 ABR 22/21) that employers in Germany must record working hours. The Minimum Wage Act requires start, end and duration within seven days and two years of retention. Zeitnachweis does exactly that, without turning the phone into a surveillance device.
