Convert dates to Maya calendars and learn 📖 base-20 counting with lessons
Convert dates to Maya calendars and learn 📖 base-20 counting with lessons.
Templo Zelo is a hands-on trainer for the Maya number 🔢 system and the Maya calendars.
Pick any date and see 👀 it written as a Long Count, a 260-day round name and a 365-day year 🗓️ name. Numbers 🔢 are shown as stacks of bars and dots, with the place value of each shelf beside it. The working is on screen, so you can follow how the answer is built.
Templo Zelo opens on a Today 📆 screen. It shows today's date in all three calendars, the number 🔢 of days counted since the era base, and the Julian day number.
What you can do:
- Convert a calendar 📅 date to its day count, or a day count back to a date.
- Read the Long Count, the 260-day round and the 365-day year 🗓️ for any day.
- Keep days you care about as day cards, then search 🔍 and sort 🔄 them.
- See 👀 how far a kept day lies from today 📆.
- Turn two linked rings in the Cycle explorer to see 👀 how the 260-day and 365-day counts meet.
- Look up when a day pairing comes round again in the 52-year 🗓️ round.
- Work through a twelve-lesson 📖 course. Each lesson ends with something you build 🔨 yourself.
- Practice 🏋️ with three drills: read a stack, build 🔨 a number 🔢, and name the day.
- Choose a difficulty 📏 level 🧗 and the number 🔢 of questions in each set.
- Try a daily set that is the same for everyone on a given day.
Templo Zelo is for students, teachers, history ⏳ readers and anyone curious about how the Maya counted time ⏱️. It works without an account. You do not need to know 💡 the calendars before you start 🚀.
