Monro Casino's Breakout uses normal bricks that visually display damage states as they absorb hits, requiring between one and three contacts to fully destroy depending on their starting strength. A three-hit brick shows a visibly cracked texture after the first contact and a heavily damaged state after the second, giving precise feedback on remaining hit points. Levels with many three-hit bricks take longer to clear, increasing the number of paddle returns required and raising the chance of losing a ball before finishing the stage. Fire ball powerup bypasses the multi-hit system entirely, destroying any normal brick in a single contact regardless of its current hit-point level. Breakout's multi-hit damage state system runs locally; no internet is required and all progress saves automatically.
