4Tasks

4Tasks keeps your to-do lists and reminders on your phone. Sync is optional, and goes only to a server you choose. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT • Nothing to sign up for. Your tasks stay on your phone until you connect a sync account. • No ads, no analytics, no crash reporting, no payments, no account with us. OPTIONAL SYNC • Sync with a CalDAV server that follows the standard, such as Nextcloud or SOGo (mailcow). Your tasks go straight from your phone to your server, over an encrypted connection. • Your sync password is stored encrypted on the phone, and is never put in a backup file. • A server with its own self-signed certificate works if you turn that on in Settings, Advanced. It is off by default. LISTS AND REMINDERS THAT WORK • Lists, tasks, notes, subtasks, tags and priorities. • Due dates and times, repeating tasks, and reminders that arrive at the minute you set. (Allow "Alarms & reminders" for exact timing.) • Home-screen widgets, search, filters and sorting. • Back up to a file you choose, and restore it. TABLETS AND DEX • On a wide screen the list sits beside the open task. • Keyboard and mouse: Ctrl+N for a new task, Ctrl+F to search, Esc to go back, right-click to select. WORKS WITH 4DICTATE Say it, and it is a task. In 4Dictate's command mode: "remind me tomorrow at 3 to get back to Sandra about her reservation". 4Dictate asks you to confirm, then 4Tasks makes the task with its due time and reminder. Ask "what's due tomorrow?", or say "mark the Sandra task done". • Other apps cannot delete anything in 4Tasks. There is no delete function. • Other apps can use 4Tasks only if you allow each one, by name, and you can remove it any time. OPEN SOURCE 4Tasks is free software (GPL-3.0), based on Tasks.org by Todoroo (Astrid) and the Tasks.org contributors. This is a separate app: it is not made or supported by the Tasks.org project. Privacy fixes: other apps reach 4Tasks only through 4Link, with your permission. Task locations are no longer looked up online. About now has the manual, privacy policy and support.
