4Screenshots takes a screenshot, lets you choose the part you want, and does something useful with it: mark it up, read the text in it, save it, or send it straight to the app you use. It works best with 4Zones, our free companion app: with 4Zones your shortcut captures the screen your pointer is on, with no question. Without it, 4Screenshots still works, through Android's screen sharing, but Android asks you what to share every time, and on a wireless Samsung DeX monitor saying yes ends the cast. If you use DeX wirelessly, install 4Zones too. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • 4Screenshots has no internet permission. It cannot send your screen anywhere. • Text is read on your device, not by an online service. • Saved pictures carry no hidden information about where they came from. • No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. CAPTURE • Open 4Screenshots and press Capture the screen, or use your own keyboard shortcut or gesture. The screen freezes: drag to select a region, or take the whole screen. • The last region you chose is ready next time. • If an app on screen forbids screenshots, 4Screenshots tells you which part came back blank. MARK IT UP • Pen, highlighter, line, arrow, box, oval and text labels, in three sizes. • Blur that cannot be undone: the hidden part is replaced, not just softened. • Undo and redo. READ THE TEXT • Press Text and the words in your selection appear, ready to correct and copy. • Tables come out as rows and columns to paste into a spreadsheet, or save as a .csv file. SEND IT WHERE IT GOES • Save to Pictures/4Screenshots and copy in one press, or copy without saving. • Share to any app, or add your favourite apps (Claude, ChatGPT, your email) as one-press buttons. • Add a WhatsApp chat as a shortcut and the picture goes straight to that chat. BUILT FOR SAMSUNG DEX AND THE KEYBOARD • With 4Zones installed and set up (its window access on, and "Capture screens without asking" turned on for 4Screenshots), a keyboard shortcut captures the screen your pointer is on, with no permission dialog each time. • Without 4Zones, Android asks you what to share each time, and the permission is given back as soon as the picture is taken. 4Screenshots says so at that moment, with a link to 4Zones on Google Play. • Every control has a key: S to select, W for the whole screen, Enter to save, C to copy, E to share, T for text, Esc to close. • The panel of controls is yours to place. Drag it anywhere, make it larger or smaller, and set it as a bar across the screen or a column at the side, separately for portrait and landscape. HOW TO START A CAPTURE Open 4Screenshots and press Capture the screen. That is all it takes, with nothing else installed. To start one without opening the app, 4Screenshots also answers a link, so anything that can open one becomes your shortcut: a 4Zones key or a gesture app. fourscreenshots://region picks a region; fourscreenshots://screen saves the whole screen.
