Spooky Bones: Ninja Cat

1581. Oda Nobunaga's army burns Iga province, home of the ninja. Spooky's master falls, and the thing wearing the warlord's armor tears a hole in time and escapes. Spooky, a small gray cat with a white bib and one fang, jumps in after it. Spooky Bones is a vertical shoot 'em up across eight eras of Japan. Drag to fly, Spooky fires on his own, and every chapter ends in a boss fight. EIGHT ERAS, EIGHT BOSSES • Iga, 1581: ashigaru, archers and mounted samurai through burning rice fields, then the Demon King himself • Heian-kyō, 1000: a night parade of a hundred demons and Tamamo-no-Mae, the nine-tailed fox • Hakata Bay, 1281: the Mongol fleet, exploding tetsuhau bombs and the kamikaze typhoon • Edo, 1657: the Great Meireki Fire and a cursed furisode kimono • Uraga, 1853: a phantom black ship made of smoke • Shimbashi, 1872: Japan's first railway and an iron oni engine • Tokyo, 1964: tin toys, a bullet train and a tin kaiju • Then back to where it began, for the true ending PLAY LIKE A CAT, NOT A SPACESHIP • Scratch: fly into enemies to claw them. Only bullets, bombs and lightning hurt, and only on the glowing dot on Spooky's chest • Tails: every tail you collect fires with you and counts as a hit point.
