A night expedition under the northern lights. A sled with a lantern slides across each ice sheet until a rock or the edge stops it. Snowdrifts halt it on the spot, a glowing portal leads to the next sheet, and flakes are gathered on the way. North: the Expedition An endless chain of ice sheets that grow from 7×7 to 12×12. Every move burns a drop of lantern oil, and undo does not give it back. Each crossing refills par plus two, and each flake adds one more. When the oil runs dry, the expedition ends. Your record is the number of sheets crossed, and the last 20 expeditions are kept. One route peek is allowed per sheet. East: the Race You and a bot crew get the same sheet, and the first sled to reach the portal takes the race. Calm crew moves every 2.8 seconds and wanders, Swift crew every 1.9 seconds and mostly on the right line, and Polar crew every 1.3 seconds on the shortest route. Their board is shown as a mini map. South: the Log Eight entries of an expedition journal, from Base camp and The pressure ridge to Lantern night, open as your total of crossings grows. West: the Quiz Sky and sea ice: 10 questions per round from 23 real facts about auroras and sea ice, with four answers in a grid and a note after each one. Back at camp Ten badges, such as Seasoned, Glints and Sky reader, mark the way. A rail on the left leads to Camp, Race, Log, Quiz, Badges and Settings. Three breathing aurora ribbons and twinkling stars form the animated background, and you can switch it off in Settings, next to haptics and a progress reset. The game plays offline with no account needed.
