Go Blossom: Baduk & Weiqi

Playing alone, you never learn why you lost. Go Blossom is a Go app where you learn by playing real games against seven opponents. Every move you make is scored — you see how many points it cost — and those records answer the one question that matters: am I actually improving? Also known as baduk (Korea) and weiqi (China) — the classic board game of Go, with a tutor built in. ■ The opponent is the difficulty — seven of them Jiu(Beginner) · Chaea(Novice) · Minseo(Intermediate) · Harin(Advanced) · Seoyun(Expert) · Seoha(Master) · Jieum(Pro level), each stronger than the last. Beat one and the next is waiting. The final opponent is hard to beat — how few points you lose by is the real measure. Even out the gap with handicap stones. The app remembers the count for each opponent, so you can tune it as you play. ■ Every move, scored See the grade and the point loss for the move you just played. Tap Move hint for the recommended move and the reason behind it. When a loss is within the engine's own margin of error, it says so instead of guessing. ■ Position assessment See whose territory is whose, marked directly on the board. Fewer games lost without ever knowing why. ■ Rank estimation Two signals together: per-move loss, and game results. Moves played after reading an explanation are excluded, and so are positions already decided. This version estimates up to 6 dan. Above that it says "6 dan or stronger" — that is as far as we have actually measured. Charts show your rank and move quality over time. ■ 9x9, 13x13 and 19x19 — all free Board size is never locked. Handicap games are supported. ■ No ads, works offline The analysis engine runs on your device. Play with no network at all, and there are no ads of any kind. Sign in with Google to carry your record across devices — everything works without signing in, too. ■ Subscription Everything is unlocked for your first 7 days. After that, Explain stays free twice per game and assessment once per game. Subscribing unlocks unlimited move hints, full review (where you lost points, with the best move shown on the board), the four stronger opponents (Harin, Seoyun, Seoha, Jieum), and your complete progress history. Go reading is powered by the open-source KataGo engine (MIT licensed; the notice is included in the app).
