Knightwell: Chess Puzzles

Knightwell: Chess Puzzles is a chess tactics trainer. Each puzzle is a real position from a real game. The opponent has just moved. Find the winning move, and the opponent answers. The line goes on until it ends. The Rated ladder finds your puzzle rating. It starts uncertain, so the first puzzles move it quickly, and it settles as you solve more. Every ten puzzles, a summary shows what you solved, what you missed, and your rating at the start and at the end. Puzzle Rush gives you three minutes and three strikes. Solve as many puzzles as you can. Puzzles get harder as you go. The Daily puzzle is one fixed puzzle for each date. A calendar shows your solved, failed and assisted days. Themes drill one pattern at a time: forks, pins, skewers, hanging pieces, mate in one, mate in two and more. Each theme has its own rating and a one-line explanation. Stuck? A hint first shows the piece to move, then the square it goes to. A wrong move ends the puzzle and shows the answer, with its moves in standard notation. Features - Drag a piece, or tap it and then tap the square you want. - Rated ladder, Puzzle Rush, Daily puzzle and Themes. - A short tutorial, which you can replay from Settings. - Stats: your rating and its title, a rating history, and high scores. - Board and piece looks, drawn inside the app. - Puzzles are stored on your device, so the game works offline. - Sound, music, haptics and reduced motion can each be turned on or off in Settings. Ads and purchases The game is free and contains ads. A full-screen ad can appear when you leave a set summary, after a set of puzzles or a Puzzle Rush run. It never appears during a puzzle. Two optional video offers are always your choice: a second life in Puzzle Rush, and a retry without rating change after a failed rated puzzle. Remove Ads is a one-time purchase that turns off the full-screen ads. Study Room is a one-time purchase that unlocks the premium themes, Puzzle Rush Survival and more board and piece looks. Study Room does not change puzzles, ratings or scores. Knightwell is for adults aged 18 and over. It has no account, no sign-in and no chat.
