FloodShield: Flood Alerts

Heavy rain, rising rivers, landslides: FloodShield warns you early, on your phone, for exactly where you are in Vietnam. WHAT MAKES FLOODSHIELD DIFFERENT • River floods in the next 10 days: the app finds the large river near you and compares its forecast flow with that river's own 2-, 5- and 20-year flood levels (worked out from 20 years of GloFAS data). One look tells you whether it stays normal or may flood. • Heavy-rain warnings on the thresholds of Vietnam's National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, plus intense rain that floods streets. • Home-screen widgets in 2 sizes: the weather and any warning, without opening the app. • Notifications for new warnings, even when the app is closed. WHEN YOU NEED TO LEAVE • The nearest evacuation places: schools, ward offices, community centres, hospitals… with distance and directions. • Emergency numbers 111–115, available offline. • What to do in 7 kinds of disaster, in short, simple steps. NEIGHBOURS HELPING NEIGHBOURS • Share a photo and how deep the water is where you are: ankle-deep, knee-deep… • Tap "I see it too" to confirm someone else's report. • Report or hide bad content; posts reported by several people are hidden automatically. EASY FOR GRANDPARENTS TOO • Large, clear text that is easy to read. • Vietnamese and English. • No account, no ads, no sale of data. Delete all your data with one button in Settings. Also: current weather, 48-hour and 7-day forecast; warnings for strong wind, heat and landslide risk in hilly areas. Data: Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0), GloFAS – Copernicus Emergency Management Service, GDACS, © OpenStreetMap contributors. Note: FloodShield is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, and does not represent, any government agency. Information is for guidance only; always follow the instructions of local authorities and of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (nchmf.gov.vn).
