Taipei MRT: set your arrival time, get the latest time to enter the station
Built for the Taipei MRT in Taiwan: tell Metro Time Helper when you need to be there, and it tells you the latest time to walk into the station.
Its standout feature is 50 languages, so it works just as well for locals in Taiwan on the daily commute as for travelers from around the world riding the Taipei MRT for the first time, each in a language they know.
Most transit apps answer one question: when will I arrive? Metro Time Helper answers the one you actually have before a meeting, a dinner reservation or the last train of the night: when do I need to leave? It works backward from your arrival time, transfers included, so you stop guessing.
Three modes in one app
Switch between them anytime with one tap, and choose which one opens first in Settings.
Everyday MRT
Choose your starting station, your destination and the time you need to arrive. You get the latest time to enter the station, a step-by-step timeline for every leg and transfer, first and last train warnings, and a reminder when it is time to go. Would rather leave right now? Switch to Leave now and see when you will get there. Tap any station on the built-in zoomable MRT map to set it as your start or destination, and your route is drawn right on the map. Pick Standard estimates (half a headway of waiting) or Cautious estimates (a full headway), and adjust your station entry buffer.
Xiaobitan branch
Qizhang to Xiaobitan on the official fixed timetable: a countdown to the next train, full timetables for today, weekdays and weekends, departure reminders 1 to 30 minutes ahead, and the official timetable PDF. Trains on this branch run only about every 12 to 16 minutes, and most route apps overlook it. Everyday trip planning also uses the same official timetable whenever your route touches this branch. Meihe City (美河市) in Xindian sits right next to Xiaobitan Station, so with a departure reminder set, residents do not have to wait around on the platform.
Beitou to Xinbeitou branch
The short line to the Xinbeitou hot spring area, with the same countdown, full timetables, reminders and official PDF.
Lines covered
Wenhu, Tamsui-Xinyi (including the Xinbeitou branch), Songshan-Xindian (including the Xiaobitan branch), Zhonghe-Xinlu, Bannan, phase one of the Circular line, and the New Taipei Metro Sanying line (Dingpu to Yingge, with transfers to the Bannan line at Dingpu). Airport MRT and light rail are not included.
Made for everyday use
50 languages that follow your phone or can be switched inside the app, and a single-screen planner that keeps every step easy to read.
Private by design
No sign-up, no personal data collection, no ads and no third-party analytics. Everything is calculated on your device and reminders are scheduled locally. The official timetable PDF is downloaded from the official Taipei Metro website only when you tap to open it.
Try everything first
Use every feature for 24 hours from the moment you start. After that, a single one-time in-app purchase unlocks the full app. No subscription, and nothing renews automatically.
Good to know
Times are estimates based on official published headways and travel times between stations. They are not live train arrivals.
Metro Time Helper is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation. It uses publicly available official data such as timetables, travel times and headways.
