See every guitar scale, chord and arpeggio on the neck. Free, Pro adds more.
Learn the fretboard, one shape at a time.
Oexta Fretcraft is one big guitar neck with everything you need around it. Pick a key and see it across the whole neck, colour coded, with a finger number on every dot. Open a tool and it slides in from the right over the same neck, so the chord, key and position you picked are still there when you close it.
FREE TO TRY, PRO TO UNLOCK. The app is free to download and use: scales, arpeggios, chord shapes, the tuner, the standard metronome and the fretboard tools. Oexta Pro is a one-time in-app purchase (no subscription) that unlocks: Technique (pick or fingers, alternate picking and fingerstyle trainers), the complete chord library (every chord type in every key with several voicings), classical pieces, folk songs and advanced drills on the note highway, metronome extras (click sounds, accent patterns and sixteenth notes), a private practice log of your minutes per day that stays on your device, and extra colour themes. The Pro window in the app lists every item. Pro prices are subject to change in the future.
ONE EXPLORER, THREE MODES
- Scales: every scale and mode across the whole neck or one position at a time, with finger numbers. Build your own scale from intervals and the app names it (over 60 scales and modes).
- Chords: the chords in your key on the neck, plus the full chord library (Pro): 45 chord types in all 12 keys, 8 to 14 voicings each, from major and minor to 6/9, m7b5, 7#9, maj13 and minor flat 13, with finger and barre marks. Free: the movable barre, jazz shell, drop 2, drop 3 and triad shapes, stepped through every place they fit.
- Arpeggios: 29 arpeggio types with notes and intervals, played up, up and down or as a chord, with the scale shape underneath.
- More: notes, intervals and chord progressions.
THE MENU
- Play: a note highway where notes fall down a lane for each string, with microphone play-along, and a song player that plays song-style chord progressions with you, chord by chord.
- Theory: circle of fifths, why scales and chords work, diatonic chords in every key, chord formulas, intervals and movable barre chords.
- Practice: fretboard drills, a note reading quiz and build-the-chord.
- Technique (Pro): pick or fingers, an alternate picking drill and a fingerstyle pattern trainer with a built-in metronome.
- Notation: learn to read the staff and write short melodies.
- Anatomy: the parts of an acoustic and an electric guitar.
METRONOME AND TUNER
