Neo Jelly

Neo Jelly removes both of the usual match three moves. You never swap two tiles and nothing ever falls on its own. The only thing you can do is tilt the entire grid. Swipe in any direction, or press one of the four pads below the board, and every jelly on the seven by seven grid slides that way until it hits a wall or another jelly. Because the whole board moves at once, a tilt is a very blunt instrument, and learning to aim it is the game. A line that looks two tiles away from a match will often form somewhere completely different once the grid has closed up, and a tilt that scores nothing can still be the right move if it stacks a colour against the wall for the next one. Three or more of a colour in a row or a column clear the moment the slide finishes. The board then closes up again in the same direction, which regularly sets off a second and third clear from a single tilt. After every tilt four fresh jellies drop into empty squares, so the grid slowly fills and the space you have to work in keeps shrinking. Each sector sets a score goal and a number of tilts. Later sectors raise the goal, cut the tilts and drop more jellies in after every move. Two tools help. Pulse removes every jelly of one random colour from the grid at once, and purge clears the four corners, which is where jellies usually get stuck. The data log keeps your career totals, eight awards follow long term goals, and a local ranking board sets your best sector against a field of rivals. The game runs offline with no accounts, no purchases of any kind and no advertising. Settings hold a single control that erases all saved data.
