Brazzo Run

One finger, one decision, repeated for as long as you can hold your nerve. Drag up and the brass runner quickens; drag down and the stride shortens. That single control is the whole game, and it is pulled in two directions at once. Behind the runner, the gallery floor is giving way. Every stretch of ground that has been crossed is already falling, which means standing still is never an option and hesitating is the same as stopping. So you drag upward and push the pace. Then the swinging counterweights come into view ahead, great brass masses sweeping across the gallery, and suddenly speed is the thing that will end the run. You ease the drag down, let a counterweight travel past in front of you, and the collapse closes in from behind while you wait. Release too early and the weight catches you. Release too late and there is no floor left to release onto. The game lives in that narrow gap between the two. Your score is simply the number of metres of gallery you have cleared, which makes progress wonderfully easy to read: the number only goes up while you are still moving. There are no stages to unlock and no run that ends because you finished something. It keeps going until the gallery takes you. And it gets harder in step with you. As the score climbs, the floor behind starts falling faster, the counterweights swing more quickly, and they appear more thickly along the route. Early on there is room to breathe between obstacles and a generous margin for a badly judged slowdown. Later the margin disappears. The pace that carried you through the first few hundred metres becomes far too cautious, and the one that feels reckless becomes the only pace that works. Learning to read a swing and commit to a speed before you can see whether it was right is the skill the whole thing is built around. Because the difficulty rises from your own score rather than from a fixed sequence, every run is shaped by how well you played the last one. A strong attempt pushes you into territory where the timing windows are tight and the decisions come in quick succession. A short one hands you back the gentler opening to try again, usually with a clearer idea of where you lost the rhythm. Runs are short, restarts are immediate, and the control never changes: up to run, down to wait, and the constant judgement of which one the next few metres demand. Pick it up for one attempt and you will find yourself chasing the number for a dozen more.
