Cranklink

Cranklink reads and changes the settings of Shimano STEPS e-bike drive units over the bike's E-TUBE Bluetooth connection. It is free, open source, and has no ads, accounts or tracking. • Connect with your bike's six-digit E-TUBE passkey and see the drive unit's model, serial number and firmware. • Adjust the settings the drive unit supports, such as wheel circumference, lighting, walk assist, assist profiles and service reminders. Each setting explains what it does, in plain units. • Review every change before saving. Each change is backed up first and checked by reading it back from the bike. • Export, import and restore setting backups, matched to the drive unit they came from. • Try everything in demo mode without a bike. Only settings that the drive unit itself offers can be changed; the app does not modify firmware. Choose only the market region that applies where you ride: some settings affect compliance with local e-bike rules. Cranklink is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Shimano. Demo mode now behaves like a real DU-EP800 over Bluetooth: change the market region and wheel size, raise assist speed up to the region's limit in whole km/h, explore factory bounds, and restore demo backups. The speed editor shows any region change before you stage it, and assist speed no longer stages a region change the connection can't save.
