Built around an intuitive tape ruler interface on paper, it makes monitoring sound levels simple and visual. ◆ Real-Time Decibel Meter with Tape Ruler - Clear Readout & Tape Ruler: View real-time sound levels with large numbers and a smooth tape ruler. - Essential Metrics: Check live readings alongside session Max, Average (energy Leq), Min, and elapsed time. - Peak Marker: A triangle marker on the ruler marks the highest decibel level reached during your session. - Energy-Averaged Leq: Calculates acoustic energy-weighted average decibels (Leq) rather than a simple arithmetic mean. ◆ Measurement Controls and History Log - Pause and Resume: Pause measuring at any time and resume seamlessly. - Reset with Undo: Clear current numbers to start fresh, with an undo option for accidental resets. - Save Measurements: Save sessions measured for 3 seconds or longer with an optional note (up to 40 characters). - History Log: Review saved records by date, with details for Max, Avg, Min decibels, elapsed time, calibration offset, and notes. - Manage Records: Edit notes, delete individual entries, or bulk delete selected records with undo support. Stores up to 500 records on your device. ◆ Everyday Sound Level Comparisons - Practical Sound Benchmarks: Compare readings against real-world sound examples (rustling leaves, whisper, fridge hum, classroom, conversation, passing traffic, shouted voice) cited from public data (U.S. NPS, NIDCD/NIH, Korea Ministry of Environment, and NIOSH/CDC). - Visual Reference Lines: Standard reference marks on the ruler provide helpful environmental context. ◆ Display and Behavior Customization - Display Modes: Choose between System default, Light mode, or Dark mode. - Landscape & Tablet Support: Adapts automatically to portrait and landscape orientations, foldable screens, and tablets. - Sounds & Haptics: Toggle button audio clicks and vibration feedback. Audio cues mute automatically while measuring. - Device Calibration: Adjust readings in ±0.5 dB steps against a known reference. Saved records preserve the offset used. - Accessibility: TalkBack support allows tapping the number for spoken readouts and announces key status changes. ◆ Microphone Privacy and Data Safety - No Audio Recording: The mic is used only to calculate loudness (dB) in real time. Audio is never recorded, saved to files, or sent to servers; buffers are processed in memory and discarded immediately. - No Background Listening: The mic operates only while the app is actively on screen. Leaving the app immediately stops measuring. - Local Storage Only: Saved measurements and settings stay strictly on your device. No account creation or login required. ◆ Reference-Only Notice and Limitations - This app is an estimation tool using your phone's microphone and is for reference only. It is not a certified sound level meter. Readings vary by phone model, case, direction, and hardware limits. - Measurements must not be used for medical diagnosis, hearing health decisions, occupational compliance, or legal dispute evidence. - Hardware Limit Alert: Displays a notice when loud sounds exceed your microphone's physical threshold. ◆ Advertising and In-App Purchase - Free to use with banner and interstitial ads, separated from measuring controls. - Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) SDK may transmit encrypted advertising IDs, approximate location (IP), and device info for ad delivery and fraud prevention, and similar. You can reset or delete your ad ID in device settings. - No recurring subscriptions. - A one-time in-app purchase for "Remove ads" is available to permanently remove both banner and interstitial ads. - Reinstalling or switching devices?
