What can you pour tonight? Most cocktail apps are a recipe list with a search box. ShakerNookBar starts from your shelf: put in what is already open and it works out what you can actually make, what you are one bottle short of, and which single bottle would open the most of the book. ONE MEASURE AT A TIME Log what went in the glass, then say how it tasted — cloying, puckering, hot, watery, tight. The app moves exactly one measure and spells out the millilitres: cut the syrup from 20 to 15, add five of lemon, work it six seconds longer. Sweet and sour both shouting is read as neither being wrong — the base is simply buried, so it raises the spirit instead. It never suggests two competing changes in the same round, because then you learn nothing about either. A SHELF THAT KNOWS WHAT DIES Gin keeps for years and says so. An open vermouth is fading inside a month — faster out on a warm bar, faster again once the bottle is mostly air, and about twice as slowly in the fridge. Every bottle carries its own decay curve rather than one flat use-by date, and whatever is closest to being poured away sits at the top of the shelf. TWENTY-SIX SPECS THAT SHIP WITH IT Daiquiri, margarita, gimlet, sidecar, bee's knees, cosmopolitan, old fashioned, manhattan, martini, negroni, boulevardier, sazerac, martinez, gin and tonic, whisky highball, dark and stormy, paloma, americano, spritz, garibaldi, mai tai, jungle bird, piña colada, espresso martini, brandy alexander and white russian — each with its glass, its ice, its garnish, a line on where it comes from, and the seconds it wants in the shaker. A JIGGER, NOT A SLIDER Measures snap to 2.5 ml, with the sizes a jigger is actually cast with marked along the ruler. Millilitres or ounces on screen, and ounces are shown in quarters the way they are spoken. WATER IS AN INGREDIENT The shake clock counts up rather than down and shows the dilution going in as you work. It records what actually happened, so a drink that got twenty seconds is not filed as though it got twelve. THE WHOLE RECORD Glasses a night over the fortnight, which evenings the bar actually gets used, your house favourites, the faults you hit most often, and sixteen medals for the habits worth keeping. Strength and standard-drink figures can be switched off entirely if you would rather not be counted at. NO ACCOUNT, NO NETWORK No sign-up, no server, no analytics, no ads. Bottles, drinks and medals live on your device and go nowhere else. Uninstalling removes everything.
