Your trips from GPS tracks and photos – on your own self-hosted TripAtlas.
TripAtlas turns the GPS tracks of your camper van, car or bike (Traccar) and your photos (Immich) into a map of every trip you have taken: where you drove, where you slept, what you saw – and what Wikipedia knows about the places.
IMPORTANT: This app needs your own TripAtlas server. TripAtlas is free, open-source software (AGPL-3.0) that you install yourself with Docker, ideally next to Traccar and Immich. Guide and software: https://github.com/supremedk1985/TripAtlas
Without a server the app only shows the connect screen.
WHAT TRIPATLAS DOES
• Data from Traccar (GPS tracks), Immich (photos) and GPX files.
• Trips are recognised automatically – every time a vehicle spends a night away from home. Overnight stays, routes, kilometres and countries come for free.
• Photos where they were taken: as stacks on the map, per trip or all of them.
• A timeline for every trip with drives, overnight stays and photos; titles and notes.
• "About this place": the Wikipedia summary and sights nearby.
• "Where I've been": a pin for every place, visited countries filled in.
• Made for families: accounts with roles. Children get their own simple, read-only view that never shows the live position.
• Import old trips from GPX, Google location history and GeoJSON.
WHAT THE APP ADDS
• Remembers your server's address (http at home or https on the road).
• Switch accounts with your fingerprint: passwords are kept encrypted in the phone's keystore, never on someone else's server.
• File picker for imports, full screen for the map and videos.
PRIVACY
The app only talks to the server you enter. No developer account, no ads, no analytics, no sharing with third parties. Your trips stay on your server.
The store pictures show a made-up example family with public-domain photos.
