Offline freeboard before you
Mines Box locks soil class, planned dig depth, and trench-box or shield height onto one glanceable offline face—so excavation leads, shoring installers, utility trench crews, and competent-person trainees see freeboard and cover before the cut goes deeper. Cold start opens a fullscreen box-card, not a notes list or panel catalog. Tap soil type A, B, or C chips, enter excavation depth and box or shield height, and get a live freeboard readout (box height minus depth) plus cover status. A clear vertical section diagram shows ground line, box top, box bottom, and trench floor with color-coded OK, short, or excess states so the stack vs. the cut is obvious at a glance. Save named trench-run cards per job: job tag, station or bay note, soil, depth, box height, and date—persisted on device and reopenable as the active face. Apply common aluminum and steel shield heights and widths from the preset library, or clone a preset into a card. Use side-by-side compare to weigh two saved cards or two box heights against the same depth and pick the safer shield stack. Keep Type A/B/C quick-reference slope and benching tables with max allowable slope ratios for unsloped vs. sloped cuts for fast field checks. Depth step helpers (0.5 ft / 1 ft) and a ft↔m unit toggle stay on the card via local settings. A pass/fail checklist strip covers soil identified, box height ≥ depth, spoil setback note, and ladder/access note as toggleable local flags. Card history and duplicate-as-new support multi-bay runs on the same job tag. Export a local PDF or text summary of the active card fields for toolbox talk printouts—on-device only, no account. Typed input with on-device storage; the core loop works fully offline. Built for the moment before the next cut—so crews lock the numbers that matter on one face, in the trench, without a signal.
