Star Climb: Hangul for Kids

Star Climb: Hangul is a Korean literacy app for children ages 4 to 7 that climbs step by step from sound play to letters, syllable building, final consonants, words and short sentences. It follows the order of Korea's national early-childhood (Nuri) curriculum and the Grade 1 Hangul units of the 2022 revised Korean language curriculum, so a child who cannot read yet can start by listening, speaking and touching. ■ 3 courses, 30 units · Sounds and Imagination Playground (ages 4-5): the Sound Forest, Word Treasure Box, Speech Bubble Friends, Syllable Train, Picture Book Adventure, Fingertip Stories (vowel tracing) and more · Letters and Words Expedition (ages 6-7): Jamo Expedition, Vowel Sound Road, Syllable Workshop, Final Consonant Studio, Word Reading Road, Sentence Playground, the Post Office of Feelings · Story and Thinking Lab (ages 8-9, extension for Grades 1-2): Sound and Spelling Detectives, Word Meaning Lab, Sentence Repair Shop, Read-Aloud Studio, Young Author Press ■ One session is 5 questions, told like a play story Listen and repeat → move cards and build letters → read with pictures → trace once with a finger. Writing is never overloaded, and listening questions do not show the answer on screen, so children really listen. ■ Consonants by sound, not by name ㄱ is voiced as "geu", not its letter name, so children can blend sounds into syllables. Letter sounds are clear fixed recordings, and prompts are read in natural Korean speech. ■ Finger tracing Stroke order is demonstrated from the starting point. Tolerances are tuned for small hands: lifting the finger and continuing is fine, and good strokes earn stars. A separate practice pad goes from lines to vowels, consonants, syllables and words. ■ 3-level hints and explanations A wrong answer gets encouragement and a retry; the second time the app plays the sound, gives a hint and points to the answer. Every question has an explanation built from real words and sounds. ■ 10 adventure games tied to learning Sound Delivery, Letter Bridge, Word Treasure Fishing, Story Train, Little Detective, Speech Bubble Theater, Forest Trail Map, Cloud Sentence Airship, Goblin Word Workshop, Story Photo Studio. After a session, children play with the words they just learned alongside an animal friend. ■ Animal friends and room decorating Learning earns star coins to raise an animal friend and decorate a room.
