Bairnly Closet

Bairnly Closet runs on three moves: write down each child's sizes, label the bins in the loft, and check one page when somebody grows. 1. Add your children Give each child a name, a birth year and their current sizes for tops, bottoms and shoes. Clothing follows the EU height ladder (50 to 176), shoes run EU 16 to 40. Every card shows the next size up straight away. 2. Label your bins One entry per tub, crate or bag: a name, the size range it holds, the season and where it lives — attic shelf, cellar, under the bed. Open a bin to list what is folded inside, with a type, a size and a count. The + and − buttons keep the count honest as things come in and out. 3. Open Hand-down For every child you see which bins hold clothes that fit today and which ones to unpack at the next size, plus any shoes already waiting in the next shoe size. Bins that every one of your children has outgrown are gathered underneath, ready to go to a cousin, a neighbour or a swap. Mark a bin as passed on, note who received it, and it moves into a short log. 4. Close the gaps The Gaps page compares the next sizes against your bins for this season or the coming one, and lists what is missing — say, winter outerwear in 122 or wellies in EU 28. Add a suggestion with one tap, or write your own entry with a note, then tick items off as you find them second-hand or in a shop. Good to know • Not sure how it feels?
