विवरण
Forty parlour games, one leather-bound library — host game night like a pro.
ReveriePastimes turns your phone into the game master for an old-fashioned
game night. It is a party game companion app — not a game itself, but a
leather-bound library of forty classic parlour games, complete with rules,
history, hosting notes and a built-in referee that runs the rounds, keeps the
timer and tallies every score, so the hosts can actually play instead of
constantly checking the rulebook.
Open the app and you are greeted by a warm, candlelit library: a "Game of the
Day" picked fresh every evening, and a shelf of five leather-bound volumes —
Word & Mind, Movement & Active, Drawing & Acting, Forfeits & Whimsy, and Card
Games — each holding eight games with full rules, a short history, hosting
tips and even music suggestions for the room. Pick a game, seat your guests
from the Visitor's Book, and hand the evening over to the app: it reveals
prompts, runs a countdown clock, deals with card-game scoring, or simply
keeps the tally, depending on what the game needs. When the last round is
played, it crowns a winner, writes up a few "fun statistics" about the
evening, and — if you like — inks the whole thing into your Evening Ledger
for good.
KEY FEATURES
✓ Forty classic parlour games — Charades, Twenty Questions, Botticelli,
Sardines, Musical Chairs, Whist, Cribbage, Snap and more, each with
step-by-step rules, a short history and hosting tips
✓ Built-in game master — the app reveals prompts, runs the round timer, and
tallies scores automatically, so nobody has to referee
✓ A Visitor's Book — keep vintage calling-card style profiles for every
regular guest, with a portrait, evenings joined, best category and
favourite game
✓ An Evening Ledger — every hosted evening is recorded with the games played,
who attended and who won, so your group's history builds up over time
✓ A "Game of the Day" pick — a fresh, deterministic suggestion every day to
help indecisive hosts get started
✓ Five curated categories — word games, active games, acting and drawing
games, whimsical forfeits, and classic card games, each with its own
filter strip for player count, playing time and equipment on hand
✓ Save your favourites — star any game to keep it close at hand for next
time
HOW IT WORKS
1. Browse the shelf, or take the Game of the Day pick, and open a game to
read the rules, history and hosting notes.
2. Seat your table from the Visitor's Book — add new guests with a name,
portrait and a line about them, or invite regulars back for another
round.
3. Start the game and let the app run the evening: it shows whose turn it
is, reveals prompts or runs the timer as the game requires, and keeps
score as you award each round.
4. When play is done, see who won the evening, read the fun statistics, and
save it to your Evening Ledger to keep the record.
WHY REVERIEPASTIMES — most party-game apps hand you a digital game to play
on a screen. This one does the opposite: it stays out of the way of the
actual game — the cards, the charades, the guessing — and only handles the
bookkeeping a good host would rather not do by hand: timing, scoring, turn
order and keeping track of who has come to play. The design is unapologetically
old-fashioned, styled after a private library at midnight, because the games
inside it are old-fashioned too — this is Charades and Whist and Musical
Chairs, not a new social game invented for an app.
PRIVACY — Everything you enter, from your Visitor's Book to your Evening
Ledger, stays on your device. There is no account, no sign-in and no ads.
The app makes only one kind of network request, to fetch a public
illustration for a small number of well-known games — no personal
information is ever sent.
