Sliding9: Learn Guitar

Learn guitar, one small lesson at a time. Sliding9 is for busy adults, and for anyone who used to play and wants to come back to it. Each session takes 5, 9 or 15 minutes and asks one thing of you at a time: listen, place your fingers, play along, finish. START FREE - Three free lessons: your first chords (G, C, D and Em), your first strumming rhythm, and your first song, Oh! Susanna. - Night 1 of the program, free. - A free practice session in Tonight, built from the chords you know. No account and no sign-in. Open the app and start. THE 90-NIGHT PROGRAM One short session a night, in eleven stages: - Clean first chords and new chord colors - Rhythm, strumming patterns and your first songs - Fingerpicking - Seventh chords and the blues - Barre chords - Scales and melody, read from simple tab - Music theory you can use - Songs and performance Checkpoint nights include short quizzes and a quick self-rating, and Tonight suggests what to practice next. 30 PUBLIC-DOMAIN SONGS Traditional and public-domain songs such as Amazing Grace, House of the Rising Sun, Scarborough Fair, Shenandoah, Wildwood Flower and Simple Gifts. Each has a chord chart written for Sliding9 and a strum or picking pattern. You sing or hum the tune. HOW A LESSON WORKS - Chord diagrams show where each finger goes, with a left-handed view. - Tap any string on the diagram to hear it on its own. - Play along with an on-screen count at three speeds, with an optional click and a repeat mode. - The guitar sound is an original synthesizer built into the app, not a recording, so it plays with no connection.
