Drop crumbs, lay pebbles and watch your ant colony organize itself.
Antopia is a calm idle game about an ant colony seen from above, drawn like a page from a naturalist's notebook. You never give the ants orders. You change the ground around them, and they organize themselves by following pheromone trails.
Drop a pile of crumbs and watch the scouts find it. Soon a trail forms, the colony follows it, and food flows back to the nest. Lay a line of pebbles and the trail bends around it. Nobody draws the paths: they emerge from what every single ant does.
• A living simulation: every ant senses and leaves pheromones, and unused trails fade away
• Green trails lead to food, ochre trails lead home, and you can show or hide them at any time
• Crumbs: tap the ground to drop food where you want the colony to go
• Pebbles: place stones or drag a whole line of them to reshape the trails
• Leaves, seeds and berries appear on the ground and run out as the ants carry them off
• The queen lays eggs on her own when there is food and room, and every larva hatches into a new worker
• Five nest chambers to upgrade: Galleries, Larva chamber, Incubator, Pantry and Beaten paths
• Honey, the rare currency, is earned as the colony gathers food and pays for chambers or hatches larvae at once
• Now and then a spider comes hunting: tap it to chase it away and earn honey
• Days go by over the colony, from morning to night
• While you are away the colony keeps gathering, more slowly, for up to 8 hours
• Graphics and sounds made entirely in code, with a soft wind and the odd birdsong
• A field guide explains every tool and rule whenever you need it
Antopia shows ads. Videos are always your choice: they double the harvest from your time away or give you 5 minutes of fast ants. Optional in-app purchases include a starter pack, honey, a cosmetic golden queen and ad removal.
