Cast to Sonos

Send audio from compatible Android apps to Sonos speakers on your local Wi-Fi. Choose a speaker, tap a source app, approve Android audio sharing and play in your usual player. Or use your phone as a live microphone: choose your Sonos speaker, tap Use microphone, confirm Start microphone and allow microphone access. Speak through Sonos without a separate microphone app. PC AUDIO VIA YOUR PHONE Open Settings > Browser controls, enable pairing and open the private link in a compatible desktop browser on your PC. Select your Sonos rooms, choose Share PC audio, enable audio in the browser's sharing chooser, then approve Allow computer audio on your phone. The phone forwards PC audio without playing it or changing phone volume. Keep all devices on the same trusted Wi-Fi. Control rooms and volume from the browser. Pairing expires automatically and can be revoked in the app. Browser support varies; protected content may block sharing. Cast to Sonos is an independent app by Urmia Works. It is free to use and supported by in-app advertising. No account or subscription is required. LISTEN AND CONTROL • Open installed music and audio apps from one place. • Use Phone audio to share audio from apps that allow Android playback capture. • Keep playback controls in your source app and adjust Sonos volume here. • Shape the stream with a ten-band equalizer, balance and sound presets. • Set a sleep timer and save room and sound settings as scenes. • Optionally enable media-session controls to pause the previous player when another app starts playing. PHONE MICROPHONE • A dedicated microphone card with a live sound meter. • Adjustable microphone boost, saved separately from music settings. • Mute and Stop mic controls in the app, plus notification controls. • Live local streaming only: no audio recordings are saved. Keep the phone away from Sonos and start with low speaker volume to reduce feedback. Boost also amplifies background sound. Mute retains microphone access; Stop mic ends it. LOCAL AUDIO Audio streams directly over your local network. Cast to Sonos does not save recordings or upload captured audio to Urmia Works or advertising providers. App-audio mode does not use the microphone. Optional microphone mode sends nearby sounds only after you explicitly start it and allow microphone access. Android requires audio permission and its sharing confirmation for playback capture. The Sonos stream is unencrypted, so use a trusted network. PC audio arrives encrypted from your paired browser. This mode does not capture phone playback or the microphone. A visible notification identifies the relay and provides stop controls. Every browser source request requires phone confirmation. COMPATIBILITY AND LIMITATIONS Requires Android 10 or later and a compatible Sonos speaker on the same network. Apps and protected content can block audio capture. Calls and all system sounds are not supported. Compatibility varies by phone, source app, speaker and Sonos settings; it is not guaranteed for every app or Sonos model. Android playback capture can leave audio playing on your phone as well as Sonos. This app does not silently reduce your phone volume. Some playback delay remains, so this mode is intended for music rather than synchronized video or gaming. WAV is the default stream format; AAC is also available. ADS AND CHOICES Ads appear inside the app; video ads are requested muted. App-audio capture excludes this app, but a live microphone can hear phone or ad sound. Google restricted data processing is requested. Revisit available privacy choices in Settings. Casting remains available if ads cannot load or consent is declined. New: send PC browser audio to Sonos through your Android phone over local Wi-Fi. The phone relays PC audio without playing it. Pair from Settings > Browser controls using a private link. Starting audio requires your approval on the phone. Added browser room and volume controls, clearer pairing links, and automatic relay cleanup when sharing ends.
