Hear every corner before it comes: rally-style pace notes, like a co-driver.
Rods is a corner and road alert app for drivers and motorcycle riders. It reads the road ahead and tells you about every corner before you reach it, out loud: which way it turns, how sharp it is, and whether it tightens or opens. It also warns you about speed bumps, speed cameras and changes in the road surface.
The callouts are rally-style pace notes: the short, clear calls a rally co-driver uses. You don't need to know rally to understand them. Pick the style you like:
Simple: "Medium left, tightens, into easy right".
Numbers: "Left 3, tightens, into right 5" (the 1–6 scale used in rally).
WHO IT IS FOR
People who enjoy the drive or the ride: twisty roads, scenic routes, mountain passes, backroads, touge and roads you have never driven before. Made for cars first, and just as useful on a motorcycle.
WHAT YOU HEAR
• Every corner: direction, how sharp it is, tightens or opens, and corners that link together.
• The distance to the next corner.
• Speed bumps and speed cameras.
• Changes in road surface.
• GPS alerts when the signal is lost, weak or back.
PLAN YOUR ROUTE
Rods is also a route planner built around corners.
1. Plan a route anywhere: a scenic route, a touge, a mountain pass or your daily drive.
2. Before you go, Rods shows every corner, speed bump, speed camera and surface change on it.
3. Save your routes, then drive and listen. Each pace note comes before you need it.
FREE ROAM
No route? Free Roam calls the corners live on any road you choose.
ON A MOTORCYCLE
Rods works on two wheels as well as four. Connect a Bluetooth helmet headset and hear the next corner before you see it: on blind bends, mountain passes and roads you have never ridden. Plan motorcycle routes the same way as car routes: check the road first, then ride.
SET IT UP YOUR WAY
• Simple severity (easy, medium, hard) or numbers (1–6).
• Early, standard or late callout timing.
• Metric (km) or imperial (miles) units.
• Choose your vehicle and voice style.
