Flame Shape Journal

Flame Shape Journal is a personal notebook for observing the appearance and movement of flames. Create a collection of flame sources, describe the shapes you notice and keep your own impressions together. ORGANIZE YOUR FLAME SOURCES Create a Flame Source for a candle, fireplace, campfire, fire pit, stove or another source you observe. Give each source a name, category and short description. Add an optional observation location and personal comments to provide context for your notes. RECORD WHAT YOU SEE Describe flame silhouettes by hand, select their characteristic visual features and note how they move or change. Keep observations with the relevant source so that its history develops as you add entries. BUILD A PERSONAL COLLECTION Use categories such as Candle, Fireplace, Campfire, Stove, Fire Pit and Other to organize your sources. Keep separate records for a living room candle, an evening fireplace or a garden fire pit, and return to the observations associated with each one. FOCUS ON VISUAL IMPRESSIONS The journal is intended for personal descriptions, not scientific analysis of combustion. It does not automatically recognize flames, measure temperature or control a fire. You decide what to record and how to describe the shapes and movements you observe. Observe only from a safe distance and under safe conditions. The app does not require you to touch flames, adjust a fire or change the way a source burns.
