Check pitch, play songs with 4, 6 or 12-hole fingerings, and take a quiz.
Blow a note on your ocarina and see how high or low it is. Open a song, see the fingering for every note, hear how it goes, and play along. No sign-in, and no paid songs.
■ Tuner
Blow a note and see its name and how far off it is, in cents.
On an ocarina, your breath sets the pitch. The tuner tells you to blow a little softer when you're high and a little harder when you're low.
A line shows the last four seconds of your pitch, so you can see a wobbly breath. A dot lights up when the note holds steady and close to pitch.
Without the microphone, tap a reference tone and match it by ear.
■ Fingering charts for 4, 6 and 12 holes
12-hole alto, soprano and bass in C, plus 4-hole and 6-hole pendant ocarinas (English system).
Choose the key of your ocarina (C, G, F, D or B♭). With the microphone on, cover every hole and blow, and the app sets the key from the note it hears. If it can't hear one, it starts in C and you can change it in settings.
■ Fingering quiz
See a note and cover the right holes on the ocarina. Ten questions at a time, with sharps and flats if you like.
A wrong answer shows which holes were off and the correct fingering, and you can retry only the notes you missed.
■ Songs
Public-domain melodies and traditional folk songs, arranged for the ocarina.
- Every note comes with its fingering.
- Songs that fit are moved to your ocarina's range; songs that don't are listed separately.
- Letter names, numbers, or do-re-mi (when the app is in Korean).
- Listen at 50% to 150% speed.
- Play along: with the microphone allowed, play the highlighted note on your ocarina and the app listens and moves on. Without it, practice with the note buttons.
■ Your own songs
Tap the notes to write down a tune. Add rests, undo, or edit it as text. Save a backup file and bring it back on a new phone.
■ Play on screen
Touch the ocarina on screen to blow, and cover its holes with your fingers to change the note, like the real thing. On 4 and 6-hole ocarinas, touching the edge of a front hole half-covers it. The thumb holes switch between covered and open with each tap. Prefer buttons? Switch to note buttons and see each fingering large.
■ Your sound stays on your device
The tuner listens only while it is on screen. Sound is processed on this device and is never recorded or sent.
■ Permissions
