Bookstore Counter: Inventory

Bookstore Counter is the bookstore inventory app for independent bookstores. Scan it, shelve it, count it, send it back on time: an ISBN book scanner for receiving, section counts, a returns pull list that beats every publisher's return window, and turns by section, on every phone on your floor and in your office browser. It works beside the POS you already run. Keep Anthology, Booklog, IBID, Bookmanager or Square at the till: Bookstore Counter reads your POS's exports and your publishers' ONIX files, and never writes to your POS. RECEIVE A DELIVERY WITH THE ISBN SCANNER • Open a delivery from Ingram, Penguin Random House or any vendor and scan every book in with the phone's camera. A Bluetooth barcode scanner that types into the field works too. • Each book lands in its section with its cost and its return-by date, worked out from that vendor's return window. • A book the store has never seen is looked up by ISBN in Open Library and Google Books. NEVER MISS A RETURN WINDOW • The returns pull list, a book returns tracker, shows every title whose window closes in the next 30 days, that has not sold in 90 days and that is still on the shelf. • Grouped by vendor, sorted by close date and by value at cost. • Start a return box with every title on it in one tap, scan the books off the shelf, close it, and send the return document (CSV) with the box. • The returns radar in the web app: cost at risk by closing week for eight weeks, each vendor's minimum, non-returnable titles kept apart, and credit memos checked against what was sent. COUNT ONE SECTION AT A TIME • Pick Kids, Fiction or the whole store and scan the shelf. Expected against counted shows as you go. • Close the count and the adjustments are written, with who counted and when. TURNS BY SECTION, DEAD STOCK AND REORDER • Book inventory analytics for booksellers: turns for every section beside the 2.5 to 6 range bookstores aim for, sell-through by title, and the sentence that explains each number. • Dead stock: titles with no sale in 180 days and what they cost you. • Reorder: books that are selling with none or one left. Export the list as CSV. "DO YOU HAVE…?" ON THE FLOOR • Search by title, author or ISBN, or scan the book in a customer's hand: on hand, section and shelf, cost and price, last sold, last received and a shelf-talker note. ONE BOOKSTORE, EVERY PHONE • The owner signs in with Google and opens the bookstore. Staff join with the bookstore's 6-character code or its QR, signed in or as a floor phone with no account at all. • The phone keeps a copy of the bookstore, so a scan in a dead-spot stockroom still finds the book, and your work waits for signal. • The same bookstore opens in the web app at bookstorecounter.adelyons.com for the back office: dashboard, the full stock list, imports, returns and people. IMPORTS AND EXPORTS • ONIX for Books 3.0 and 3.1 import: titles, contributors, publisher, format, prices, BISAC subjects and covers. • Stock and sales CSV exports from your POS, with each column mapped and a preview before anything is saved. A sales file imported twice is not counted twice. • Export stock, movements, the reorder list and a weekly sales file (ISBN, units, week ending) for your BookScan reporting.
