Chordbook

Chordbook is a guitar chord reference that also does the arithmetic guitarists usually do in their heads: moving a progression to a new key and working out which shapes to play with a capo. CHORD LIBRARY Pick any of 17 root spellings, from C to B with sharps and flats, and one of 13 chord types: major, minor, 7, maj7, m7, sus2, sus4, dim, aug, add9, 6, m6 and 9. Every chord comes with at least two fretboard diagrams. Where a common open shape exists you see it first, followed by movable barre shapes built from the E shape (root on the 6th string) and the A shape (root on the 5th string). Each diagram shows the frets, the finger to use on each note, muted and open strings, the barre and the starting fret. CHORD SPELLING Next to the diagrams, the notes of the chord are spelled for its key with the interval of each note, so C7 reads C E G B♭ with 1 3 5 ♭7. TRANSPOSER Type or paste a progression such as Am F C G, over one line or several. Move it up or down by up to 11 semitones and choose whether the result is written with sharps or flats. Slash chords such as D/F♯ keep their bass note, bar lines and repeat marks stay where they were, and words that are not chords are left alone. Chordbook tells you which key's shapes to play, for example a song in A with the capo on fret 2 is played with G shapes, and lists every chord of the key next to the shape you finger for it. A table of capo positions marks the ones where most chords are open shapes. SONG SHEETS AND FAVORITES Save up to 50 song sheets, each with a title, a progression and its own transpose and capo setting, so you can see both the chords that sound and the shapes to finger.
