AR camera measure, bubble level, ruler in mm & inches, inclinometer, protractor
Level & Ruler in one app: Plumbrule is a bubble level and a ruler in mm and inches, plus an inclinometer, a protractor and a reading log. It is named after the carpenter's plumb rule, a straightedge and a level in one board, and it brings that same idea to your phone as one clean, precise measuring tool.
■ AR measuring with the camera (new)
• Distance: mark two points and read the length; chain points for a total
• Height: mark the base, then tilt up to the top
• Angle between two lines, area and perimeter of any outline, volume of a box
• Works on floors, tables and walls; shows Level or Plumb when a line is true
• Every result shows its expected error (±), with low-light and distance warnings
• Units: cm, m, inches or feet
• Save the photo with the dimension lines drawn in, name it and share it
• All AR tools are included; nothing is locked. The camera image is processed on your phone and is not uploaded
• Needs an AR-capable phone; on other phones the ruler, level and protractor work as before
• Camera measurements are estimates. For precise work, use a real tape or rule
■ Ruler in millimeters and inches
• Metric scale on the left edge, inches (1/16) on the right, both shown at once
• Drag two lines to measure; the reading follows your finger
• Choose fractions (1/16, 1/32) or decimal inches
• Add segment: measure objects longer than your screen and get the total length
• Calibrate once with a bank card, a coin or any length you know, so the on-screen scale matches your display exactly
■ Bubble level and inclinometer
• Lay the phone flat for a bullseye level with X and Y angles
• Stand it on an edge and it becomes a tube level; the vial and the reading turn with the phone
• Shows Level or Plumb, turns yellow and gives a short vibration the moment you are within tolerance
• Units: degrees, percent grade, mm per meter, inches per foot and roof pitch (x/12)
• Hold freezes the reading so you can check it after moving the phone
• Zero measures relative to any surface, which is great for matching an existing angle or slope
• Two-step flip calibration removes your phone's sensor offset
■ Protractor
• Put the corner at the pivot, drag both arms, then read the angle and its supplement
■ Measurement log
• Save any reading with one tap
• Add a label so you remember what you measured
• Share your saved readings as text or CSV
■ Built like a tool
• Graphite theme that is easy on the eyes, or a high-contrast Daylight theme for outdoors
• Keeps the screen on while you measure
• Available in 30 languages
• No account and no sign-up
■ Getting started
• Calibrate the ruler once with a bank card, a coin or any length you know
• Run the two-step flip calibration for the level
• Lay the phone flat for the bullseye level, or stand it on an edge for the tube level
• Pick your unit: degrees, percent grade, mm per meter, inches per foot or roof pitch
• Tap once to save a reading to the log, add a label and share it
■ Who it is for
• Anyone hanging a picture or shelf who wants to check level or plumb
• DIYers and carpenters who need a quick angle finder, slope gauge or pitch reading
• Anyone measuring a small object in millimeters or inches
• People who want to keep a record of their measurements
■ FAQ
• Do I need an account? No. There is no account and no sign-up.
• Where are my readings stored? Your readings stay on your phone.
• Are there ads? A small banner ad appears only on the Log and Settings screens, never over the ruler, level or protractor.
• How accurate is it? Accuracy depends on your phone's screen and sensors. Calibrate for best results and double-check critical work with a physical tool.
