Milky Way Hunting

Milky Way Hunting tells you, in plain words, whether the Milky Way core and the Andromeda Galaxy are visible from where you stand right now, where to look, and when the next good night is. LIVE STAR MAP Constellations, the Milky Way and both targets, drawn for your location and the current minute. Drag to look around, pinch to zoom, or scrub through the night to see how the sky will move. COMPASS MODE Hold the phone up and turn until the ring closes on the target. The sky follows the phone, so you can find the galactic core or Andromeda in seconds. TONIGHT A clear verdict for each target: visible now, not yet, moonlit or below the horizon. Sunset, full darkness, moonrise and the best moonless window of the night. NEXT 30 NIGHTS Every night scored for darkness, the Moon and the target's altitude, so you can plan a trip to a dark site around the great nights. YOUR PLACE Use your location or pick a place from the list. Set your sky darkness and compass correction once. Works offline, with no account, no ads and no tracking. Positions come from standard astronomical algorithms, so the times match what you will see outside.

First release. Live star map, compass pointing, tonight's verdict and a 30-night calendar for the Milky Way core and the Andromeda Galaxy.
