Five FCC radio license exams in one app: GROL, GMDSS, Ship Radar & Maintainer.
Prepare for five FCC commercial radio operator licenses in one app, with the real question pools and every answer explained. This is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of the Federal Communications Commission or any government body.
This is the study aid for the General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) and the GMDSS family: the GMDSS Radio Operator's License, the Restricted GMDSS Radio Operator's License, the Ship Radar Endorsement and the GMDSS Radio Maintainer's License. Choose your license and the mock exam draws the exact elements it needs.
WHY THIS APP
Every question is the real, word for word FCC pool question with the pool's answer key, plus a plain-English explanation we write ourselves.
- 2,244 real FCC pool questions from Elements 1, 3, 7, 7R, 8 and 9
- 2,244 flashcards for the rules, formulas and GMDSS procedures
- A license picker that builds the right mock for each license
- Timed mock exams that gate each element at its pass mark
- Weak-area review and a per-topic readiness score
A REALISTIC MOCK EXAM
Each element is passed on its own at about 75 percent. Element 1 needs 18 of 24; Elements 3 and 7 need 75 of 100; Elements 7R, 8 and 9 need 38 of 50. The in-app mocks mirror this and are an unofficial study target.
THE EXAM TOPICS
Radio law and operating practice, electronics and radio theory, GMDSS distress, urgency and safety, DSC and MMSI, Inmarsat, MF/HF and VHF-DSC, maritime safety information, survival craft and SAR, ship radar principles, and GMDSS equipment maintenance.
