Ontario Private Investigator

Get ready for the Ontario private investigator licensing exam. This app turns Ontario and federal law into a complete, offline study tool: practice questions, timed mock exams, and flashcards on the legal, privacy and criminal-law core of the exam, with every answer explained in plain language. To work as a private investigator in Ontario you must be licensed under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005 (PSISA), which means completing the mandatory basic training and passing the provincial entry test. You need 77% or higher to pass. Our mock exam uses the same 77% threshold so you always know where you stand before test day. WHAT THIS APP COVERS This app focuses on the part of the syllabus you can study from open, public law: - The PSISA, its regulations and the Code of Conduct - Privacy law: PIPEDA, FIPPA and MFIPPA - Powers of arrest and use of force under the Criminal Code - Licensing, prohibitions, offences, complaints and investigations WHAT IT DOES NOT COVER The practical sections of the official course (investigation techniques, report writing, professional ethics, communication and self-management) are taught in copyrighted training material, so they are not in this app. Use your registered training course for those. This app is a focused study aid for the legal, privacy and criminal-law topics, not a replacement for the mandatory course. WHAT YOU GET - 459 practice questions, organised by topic, each with a clear explanation. - Timed mock exams that follow real test rules and the official 77% pass mark. - 547 flashcards for the definitions, powers and rules you have to memorise. - A review list that collects every question you get wrong, so you can turn mistakes into marks. - Progress tracking across all 12 topics, so you can watch your readiness climb. SIMPLE AND PRIVATE - One-time purchase. No subscription, ever. - Works fully offline after download. No account, no sign-in, no internet needed. - Your progress stays on your device.
