Identify the constellation from the observatory vault window
The game turns the night sky into a quiz you answer with a single tap. Every chart opens a window in the observatory vault, and behind the glass sits a patch of sky: faint stars joined by constellation lines, one labelled bright star to orient yourself, and a planet drifting slowly across the view. Your job is to recognise the shape in front of you and tap its name.
Get it right and the round score is banked. Get it wrong, or let the moment pass without answering, and one of your three lights goes out. When all three are dark, the chart is over. That small, honest cost is what gives each tap its weight: there is no penalty for taking a breath and studying the lines, only for guessing badly.
The vault holds fifteen levels, and it does not stay generous for long. The early charts show their constellations plainly, with a handful of names to choose between, so you can learn the outlines at your own pace. Further in, the shapes dim until you are reading the faintest points of light. Patterns arrive rotated away from the orientation you memorised, or mirrored, so a familiar figure suddenly needs a second look. The answer list grows to five names, and a timer begins counting down on every question, turning comfortable recognition into something closer to instinct.
What makes the later levels satisfying is that the skill transfers. You stop matching pictures and start reading structure: the spacing between stars, the bend of a line, the relationship between the labelled star and everything around it. A constellation you only half-knew at level three becomes unmistakable at level twelve, whichever way round it has been turned.
The pace suits short sessions and long ones equally. A single chart takes moments, so you can answer a few questions whenever you have a minute, or settle in and work through a level while your eye sharpens. The drifting planet and the quiet geometry of the lines keep the whole thing calm rather than frantic, even once the timer is running.
If you have ever looked up and recognised one shape among thousands of stars, this game is built around that moment, repeated and refined until the sky starts to feel organised. Open a window, read the lines, tap the name.
