Wildfire Smoke Map & PM2.5

Wildfire smoke information needs context: where satellite detections appear, what particulate estimates show and how recent the data is. Wildfire Smoke Map & PM2.5 brings these views together so you can review available information for a selected area. It is an information and preparation aid, not an emergency service or a declaration that an area is safe. REVIEW SATELLITE DETECTIONS View NASA FIRMS thermal detections with approximate distance, direction, observation age, confidence and fire-radiative-power information. The simple point map shows their relative positions and proximity colours. It does not draw fire boundaries, street routes or drifting smoke plumes. Satellite observations can be delayed by hours and do not identify every fire. The nearby display is limited to the nearest 250 detections while retaining the total found. UNDERSTAND PM2.5 AND THE OUTLOOK Review PM2.5 concentration in µg/m³ and an hourly model outlook across two forecast days when available. The default source is an Open-Meteo air-quality model, not your phone and not a guaranteed nearby monitoring station. Source and time information help interpret the number. Smoke categories use the app's own PM2.5 bands rather than an official AQI calculation. These estimates cannot establish personal exposure or guarantee that outdoor activity is safe. SAVE A PLACE FOR COMPARISON Save the selected area's centre with a name and a radius of 10, 25, 50 or 100 km. With notification permission, the alert page can notify you when newly received detections in its available feed fall inside that radius. It checks the feed supplied to the page, not every location continuously in the background. This is not route tracking, an instant fire-start alarm or a guaranteed early warning. Verify both the saved coordinates and the area currently being viewed. ORGANIZE PREPARATION Use the checklist for an emergency bag, documents, property preparation, an evacuation plan and pets. Mark items and review saved progress. Completion reflects the boxes you checked; it is not a safety assessment. Follow official local information and evacuation instructions regardless of what the map, alert list or checklist shows. DATA AVAILABILITY AND ACCESS Location supports the nearby view; choose a region when a position is unavailable. Fire detections depend on a working data service, runtime configuration and a network connection. Missing fire or PM2.5 data is shown as unavailable and must not be read as an all-clear. Optional smoke-report sharing uses rewarded advertising. The app contains AdMob ads, sends Firebase Analytics usage events and uses network services for environmental data and configuration. This app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. Consult a healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

New regions: Sumatra, Borneo, Mainland Southeast Asia, Nusa Tenggara & Timor, Eastern Amazon (Pará), Cerrado (Brazil). Nearest first from your position; without one, by your language setting's country for some countries, else standard order; none is auto-selected. “Strongest detected hotspots” counts each detection once. “Alert places” saves a place only once location is allowed or a region is picked (saving its centre). Outside the viewed area: not checked; with no live data: status unknown.
